The Level 1 Diploma in Caring for Children qualification provides students with the knowledge and the skills needed to care for young children.
What does the qualification cover?
The Level 1 Diploma in Caring consists of the essential elements required to know such as: children’s growth, learning and development. There are also units to help with self-development. It also includes direction on how to study the guidelines for safeguarding children and how to recognise the circumstances in which emergency action must be taken, as well as how to encourage children to participate in learning experiences and improve a young child’s confidence.
What is a nested qualification?
This qualification is nested. Qualifications within a nested suite allowing learners to be topped up to a qualification that is the same level and subject within the Award, Certificate, Diploma structure.
Who is it suitable for?
This qualification is suitable for you if you are considering a career in caring for children. It can also support you with re-engaging with learning and break down barriers to you entering the childcare workforce.
What are the entry requirements?
You should be at least 14 years old and have a competent level of English.
How is it assessed?
It will be assessed by a qualified assessor using a range of methods. This could include tasks such as designing charts or leaflets, coursework or methods such as oral questioning or assignments.
Do you need to be working to take the qualification?
No, as it is a knowledge only qualification.
How long does it take to complete?
You can usually complete the Diploma in a year or less depending on the speed of your learning (We have learners completing within 6 Months).
